Rick Randall, Chief Executive Officer

Rick Randall has been Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since June 2002. From June 2000 to June 2002, Mr. Randall served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Incumed, Inc., a privately-held medical device incubator company. From January 1994 to February 2000, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Innovasive Devices, Inc., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of arthroscopic surgical products which was acquired by the Ethicon Division of Johnson & Johnson in 2000. Mr. Randall served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Conceptus, Inc. from December 1992 to July 1993 and Chief Financial Officer from December 1992 to January 1995. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Target Therapeutics, Inc., an interventional neurovascular medical device company which was acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation in 1997. Mr. Randall received a B.S. degree in Biology and Science Education from State University College of New York at Buffalo.

Ken Reali, President & Chief Operating Officer

Ken Reali has been President and Chief Operating Officer since January 2010. Mr. Reali was most recently Senior Vice President and General of Smith & Nephew's Biologics and Spine Division prior to assuming his position with Trans1. Ken served 5 years at Smith & Nephew in positions including Vice President and General Manager of the Clinical Therapies Division. Mr. Reali worked at Stryker from 1998 to 2005 where he held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and sales management. Ken started his career at Biomet where he progressed from Sales Representative of total joint implants, electrical stimulation products and external fixation for trauma applications to Marketing Product Manager for spinal fixation and implant development. Mr. Reali received a B.S. degree in Business with a minor in Math from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. Ken has completed executive management and business leadership courses at Harvard Business School and MIT's Sloan School of Management.

Joseph Slattery, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Slattery has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since April 2010. From October 1, 2006 through August 3, 2007, Mr. Slattery served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Information Systems of Digene Corporation, a molecular diagnostics company that was acquired by Qiagen, N.V. in August, 2007. Prior to being appointed Chief Financial Officer, he served as Senior Vice Presdient, Finanace and Inforamtion Systems beginning in September 2002. Previously, he served as Vice President, Finance from July 1999 to September 2002 and as Controller from February 1996 to July 2000. Mr. Slattery serves on the board of directors of Micromet, Inc. and CVRx Inc.. Mr. Slattery received a B.S. degree in Accountancy From Bentley University.

Dwayne Montgomery, Vice President of Sales

Dwayne Montgomery has been Vice President of Sales since March 2010. Mr. Montgomery brings to TranS1 over 18 years of medical device and pharmaceutical related experience having both domestic and global positions within sales, marketing, operations and general management. Prior to TranS1, Mr. Montgomery was most recently Vice President of Sales at ConMed Linvatec, Inc., a publicly traded arthroscopy and endoscopy company. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Montgomery served in positions of increasing responsibility at Smith & Nephew, Inc., a global leader in orthopaedics, with his last position being Vice President and General Manager of Trauma. Mr. Montgomery began his career with Merck, a publicly traded pharmaceutical company, serving as a sales representative and field marketing development manager from 1991 to 1996. He then joined the medical device space holding positions at C.R. Bard from 1996 to 1999 and Guidant Corporation from 1999 to 2003. Mr. Montgomery received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and minor in Biology at the University of North Alabama and Master of Business Administration from Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee.

Rob Martin, Vice President of International Sales

Robert Martin has been Vice President of International Sales since July 2007. From 2000 to June 2007, Mr. Martin served as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing and, most recently, as President and CEO at Ascension Orthopedics Inc., a privately held extremity orthopedics company. From 1999 to 2000, he served as European Sales Manager for Innovasive Devices, Inc. a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of arthroscopic surgical products which was acquired by the Ethicon Division of Johnson & Johnson in 2000. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Martin served as Sales and Marketing Manager for 3 divisions of Stryker Inc. (Canada), a publicly traded global orthopedic company. Mr. Martin received a B.A. degree in Physical Education from the University of Western Ontario.

Mickey Ramchandani, Vice President of Business Development

Mickey Ramchandani joined TranS1 as Vice President of Business Development in June 2008. Mr. Ramchandani has over 15 years experience in the life science industry, with experience ranging from research to marketing, business development and corporate strategy. Prior to TranS1, Mr. Ramchandani was at Kowa Research Institute, a US affiliate of a Japanese pharmaceutical company, Kowa Company Ltd. At Kowa, Mr. Ramchandani was responsible for all in-licensing, out-licensing and acquisitions. Prior to Kowa, Mr. Ramchandani started a device import and sales company called OBX Medical. Mr. Ramchandani also served at Baxter for 5 years, starting as a Senior Marketing Manager and for the last 3 years as Director, Global New Business. Mr. Ramchandani was also part of the Drug Discovery team at Pfizer from 1990 through 1994. Mr. Ramchandani received a B.S. in Chemistry from Campbell University, a M.S. in Organic Chemistry from East Carolina University and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
